Jasmine is a character from the Disney animated movie "Aladdin". She is one of the Disney Princesses.She is the Princess of Agrabah. His father, the Sultan, wants her to marry a prince. However, she doesn't care for royal titles, she values more the honesty and purity of heart of a man.When Aladdin finds the magic lamp at the Cave of Wonders, he uses his second wish to become a prince to that Jasmine will love him. But when he finds out about what Jasmine looks in a man, he reveals his true identity. However, Iago the parrot steals the magic lamp and gives it to the evil vizier Jafar. Jafar uses his first to take over Agrabah, and he uses his second wish to become Amaya, one of the acient wizard-gods. However, Aladdin points out that the Genie is still more powerful than him. Thus, Jafar uses his third wish to become a genie. However, he doesn't realize that he is thus confined to a life of servitude, and is thus banished to a magic lamp. At the end, Jasmine lets Aladdin and the Genie move to her palace.In "The Return of Jafar", a thief named Abis Mal finds Jafar's lamp and sets him free, and Jasmine teams up with the heroes to defeat him.In "Aladdin: The Series", her character is fleshed out more. She proves to be brave, strong and independent, able to best men at combat.In "Aladdin and the King of Thieves", Aladdin and Jasmine finally get married, and she helps him rescue his father from the King of Thieves.She appears as a guest in "House of Mouse".She appears in all three "Kingdom Hearts" videogames.In "Kingdom Hearts", Jafar tries to use the Heartless to take over Agrabah, so Jasmine teams up with Sora, Goofy and Donald to defeat him.In "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories", Jafar tries to get revenge at the heroes, and Jasmine once more teams up with the heroes to defeat him.In "Kingdom Hearts II", Jafar makes a second attempt at revenge, this time together with Pete, and once agfain Jasmine helps the heroes defeat him.

Wallpaper is the enigmatic onstage existence of Oakland music addict Eric Frederic. In another life, he fronts a prog-rock powerhouse (indie stalwarts Facing New York), but in this one, he's a pop-pushing kingpin as interested in art as artifice. The Wallpaper project began in early 2005 as tweaked satire, Frederic funneling his earliest influences (P-Funk, New Jack, East Bay rap) into two EPs of diced, digital beats and lyrics caricaturing the pop vernacular. But as the Hyphy hip-hop movement crested in Frederic's backyard, something changed. "I saw that classic Bay Area sound resurfacing," he says, "that same psychedelic, drippy, care-free, funky approach that reigned from Sly Stone to Digital Underground." He needed to pay tribute, and in a hail of house parties and homemade discs, Wallpaper was reborn as Ricky Reed, Frederic's disco-smashing doppelganger. This glitz 'n' grit champion of the groove has since become a gilded name in the underground, wooing crowds with a computerized croon, live reinventions of R&B classics, and tales of excess in the Information Age. Live, Wallpaper is joined by Arjun Singh on drums. They have blown spots alongside such notables as Subtle, Darondo, LA Riots, Electric Soft Parade, and Nino Moschella.

Roy Edward Disney, a nephew of Walt Disney who restored his uncle's legendary animation company, died after a battle with cancer Wednesday morning, according to The Los Angeles Times. Disney was 79.Roy Edward, the son of Roy O. Disney, Walt's brother who ran the business side of the company, Disney spent the first 20 years of his career making nature films, including the Oscar-nominated short subject Mysteries of the Deep.Following the death of his uncle in 1966 and his father in 1971, Disney was denied a larger role in the company and quit in 1977. He did, however, remain on the board of directors until 1984,when he quit the board, frustrated that the company had lost its toehold in the feature-film business.
When Michael Eisner took over as chief executive that same year, Disney advised the CEO on reviving the company's animation unit, which included investing millions in computer animation equipment. Within a few years, the Walt Disney Co. studio released a slew of critically acclaimed animated hits, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King."It was Roy who was the protector. It was Roy who was the godfather, the champion and believer in it," said Peter Schneider, the former president of Walt Disney Feature Animation. "Animation doesn't work without someone who believed, and Roy believed."In 2005, current CEO Robert Iger offered Disney an office at the company's Burbank studios, a consultancy and the title "director emeritus."

Deborah Gregory had already achieved success in several careers, including working as a fashion model, entertainer, and magazine columnist, when she was approached in 1999 by Disney to create a series of books aimed at young African American girls. Because of her flamboyant personality and her flair for words, Gregory was just the right person to reach a marketing segment that had been traditionally overlooked. The first in what would come to be called the Cheetah Girls series, Wishing on a Star, was released in September 1999. Since then thirteen more books have been published—one almost every six months—with each following the adventures of five hip New York teens who are trying to break into show business. Gregory has essentially created a Cheetah Girls dynasty. In addition to books, there has been a Cheetah Girls movie, which was released on the Disney Channel in 2003. There are also numerous Cheetah Girl products, including CDs, T-shirts, and fashion accessories, all guaranteed to give young girls "growl power."
